I finally decided to dive in with an online backup of my files. I have two systems that need backups so I decided to use MozyPro as their prices are good and if Hanselman uses them, they can't be that bad. My big pain point with online backup is my behemouth .pst files. I have two of them...my working .pst and an archive .pst. Totaling about 2 GB total, I need a solution that can back up these files without re-uploading the entire file everytime. Mozy promises this...after the first backup.

After digging into the TimeZoneInfo class, John Meyer pointed me a the new DateTimeOffset class and a MSDN article on choosing between DateTime, DateTimeOffset and TimeZoneInfo classes. I think I am more confused by the article than before. Here are a couple of key bits of information:
I've been digging into the .NET 3.5 runtime to find any tidbits that didn't make the front pages of everyone's blogs this last year. You can find the big stories anywhere else, I want to cover the small interesting stories of what's new in the Framework. I'll be covering some classes over the next few days that I've found in the .NET 3.5 Framework (and hopefully I don't find anything I didn't notice in 2.0 or 3.0, but feel free to correct me if I am wrong).

Now that Visual Studio 2008 is released it would be nice to do some Silverlight development on it (instead of the Beta). Good and bad news:
I've had a number of people ask me about intellisense with Silverlight 1.0 on VS 2008. The trick is to *not* use the WPF Editor (the one that won't show Silverlight WPF anyway). To make it work:

No, I don't have enough for a whole book of annoyances (otherwise I'd be talking to O'Reilly already)...but I am perplexed by the lack of good documentation and features in VMWare's converter. It just seems to lack polish and professionalism. Don't get me wrong, I love VMWare Workstation. Its a great polished product...that's why I am so confused.

With today announcement of Visual Studio 2008 going RTM this month, we start the inevidible task of determining how many of the VS 2008 tools are going to have toolkits installed. Of most interest to me are:

I've spent the better part of the night dealing with IE6 rendering issues. I don't have a good test bed set up for testing browser problems for my personal sites so I miss major browser issues sometimes. I've been using a Visual Studio 2008 Virtual PC image to do some work with Astoria and decided to pull up my site to grab some sample code I uploaded a few weeks ago on the Entity Framework. The VS 2008 VPC is using IE6 so I brought up my site (this site) and was aghast as to how badly it looked.
