Last week my seventeenth course for Pluralsight! I love building content for Pluralsight and it allows me to teach technologies that I am utilizing in my own life. This new course is no different.
The new course is all about using WebStorm 9 to build web applications. The course was built using the WebStorm 9 EAP so I was able to cover new features as well as the basics.
The course is taught over six modules covering everything from basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript but also delving into more advanced features of the IDE. The topics covered include:
Client-side Web Development (HTML, CSS, and JavaScript)
Teaches you how to set up the IDE to match your development style
Complete tour of the IDE, Key Bindings, and command-line support
Meta-language support like LESS, SASS, CoffeeScript, and TypeScript
AngularJS-specific features
Using WebStorm to build Node.js applications
Working with Local History, Git, and GitHub
Utilizing task runners like Grunt and Gulp
Even specific tasks like creating Live Templates in WebStorm
I tried to pack every trick I could learn into this almost four hour course. I do also want to give a shout-out to the ASP.NET Insiders for all their help in pointing me at their favorite tricks and I think I got to show off each and every single one of them!
